Introducing Shantiboom Yoga

Spring is here and as the days get longer we’re all keen to get out and about and into shape for the warm weather! It’s a time of renewal and change, and as well as refocusing on our physical health it can be a great time to evaluate the well-being of mind and soul.

It’s fair to say all of us at PW are hard-workers, with even a few self-confessed workaholics among us, so how much time is left to invest in ourselves?

Someone who knows all about the importance of maintaining a work-life balance is ex-city Broker turned Yoga Instructor, Charlotte Wellfare. Discovering Yoga in 2010 Charlotte knew instantly it would alter her outlook and change her life…

Since leaving her job to train as a Yoga Instructor she’s taught her classes in local venues Shoreditch House and Frame Dance and Fitness Studio. And now the east London resident brings convenient lunchtime Yoga to The Bozdag Taekwondo studio, just down the road from Perseverance Works. Combining both the physical benefits of stretching and building core muscle strength with the mental relaxation of breathing exercises and meditation, Charlotte’s Shantiboom Yoga is a great way to de-stress, re-energise and just take a break from the day.

Her Vinyasa Flow class focuses on core strength and she describes the class as ‘fresh, funky and very much suited to the general buzz and vibe of Shoreditch’ and her Mindful Flow & Meditation offers a slower paced class which ‘will lead you to a calmer way of being, both on and off the yoga mat’.

Vinyasa classes take place Monday ― Wednesday, 12.15 ― 13.15 and Mindful Flow and Mediation is on Fridays at the same time. All classes are held the Bozdag Taekwondo Studio, 60―64 Hackney Road (just next door to The Grocery). Charlotte is offering an introductory rate of £10 for your first two weeks, so if you attend all eight sessions over a fortnight each class works out at just £1.25, meaning there’s plenty of change leftover for a sarnie!
