We’ve all been there: scrolling through option after option on Booking.com, comparing distances, working through room photos and second-guessing costs, only to find ourselves more uncertain than when we started. What should be a simple task becomes overwhelming, and too much choice leads to indecision.
And while the problem is no different for businesses, the cost is greater.
Eventay is an accommodation and venue sourcing specialist set up to simplify the often complex and time-consuming process of finding the right space for events, meetings and overnight stays. Founded in 2017, the business is built on its team’s experience in the hospitality industry, which stretch back to 1989.
From sourcing large venues for corporate events and AGMs to arranging meeting rooms, hotels, and longer-term accommodation such as aparthotels, Eventay supports clients ranging from global companies to couples planning their wedding. Whether it’s finding a venue for 4,000 delegates in Manchester, an aparthotel for two in central London, or a venue large enough for a Bulgarian life coach and pastor to preach to 1,000 listeners, the team manages it all – and that includes site visits and negotiations. As director Erwin Bustos told me: “We take on the donkey work,” allowing the client to focus on the work.
Eventay’s service is about saving clients time and money. Often, businesses approach booking spaces in a fragmented way, with different employees working independently (and finding increasingly inventive ways to justify that 5* hotel room!). This fragmentation wastes time and money. Eventay centralises the process and narrows down the options to only the most viable.
The business has grown over time, and is now a team of seven that even offers business process outsourcing through an associated company in the Philippines, which supports clients through virtual reception services, call handling, web design and marketing assistance – a cost-effective support service that grew from the Covid pandemic as businesses struggled.
One of Eventay’s most significant changes in recent years has been their move to Perseverance Works. Previously, the team operated from a range of co-working spaces across London, but with rising rents and a desire for greater stability, they sought a more permanent home.
They found that in Perseverance Works.
More than just an office, Perseverance Works offers something that aligns closely with Eventay’s ethos. Erwin describes PW as having a “family and friendship feel,” where businesses support one another and relationships develop. “We are relaxed in how we work, and the ambiance and the surroundings here are beautiful,” says Erwin. In an industry defined by movement, Eventay has put down roots.
