Local Issues

Here you will find information about:

Crime:

Please call 999 if you witness a crime taking place; otherwise ring Safer Neighbourhood, Haggerston Ward on 020 7161 9026. The police team able to deal with reporting crime are Sergeant Jeremy Hinde, PC Michael Ray and PC Andrew Hills.

Noise:

If you are frequently disturbed by noise, Hackney Council has a dedicated Noise Reporting Service. Either call them on 020 8356 4455 (diverted to a mobile between 8pm-9am) or email info@hackney.gov.uk and someone will log your call/email, and give it a reference number. As well as dealing with individual noise complaints, calls are registered and can help to build a case against persistently noisy premises.

Planning and Licensing:

Licensing Applications must be visible in the windows of licensed premises, blue A4 or A3 size. Licensing Applications can be viewed in Hackney Today or the Hackney Gazette, and on the Hackney Council website, which can be viewed online.

Planning Applications must be publicly displayed, white A4, usually wrapped around a nearby lamppost or similar. Planning and Applications are also listed in Hackney Today or the Hackney Gazette, and on the Hackney Council website which can be viewed online.

Street Cleaning

Call 020 8356 6686 or email info@hackney.gov.uk if you want to discuss a street cleaning issue. The Hackney Council cleaning schedule for both Hackney and Kingsland Roads is for 7 days/week, 3 times a day.
